The Sterling Method

Leadership, across every stage of the project.

The Sterling Method is not a construction sequence — it is a leadership discipline. Six pillars that protect the client's time, the budget, and the experience of building.

I

Pillar

Leadership

One principal, personally responsible.

A principal owns the project from the first conversation through final walkthrough — the same person the client, architect, designer, and consultants work with at every stage. Direction is offered, not just options. Decisions are moved forward, not deferred.

II

Pillar

Planning

Decisions made early, quietly, in writing.

Scope, budget, sequence, permitting outlook, and construction risk are resolved before a wall moves. The plan is written, agreed, and understood by everyone at the table — so what happens on site matches what was discussed in the room.

III

Pillar

Communication

Structured, consistent, complete.

Weekly written reporting. Clear meeting cadence. Every open question tracked, every decision documented. The client never needs to ask what is happening — the answer is already in their inbox, in the format they prefer.

IV

Pillar

Ownership

Problems absorbed, not forwarded.

Coordination between architects, interior designers, landscape architects, engineers, consultants, and trades is our responsibility to carry. When something needs solving, the client learns about it and the resolution at the same time — not the problem alone.

V

Pillar

Execution

Discipline on schedule, cost, and quality.

Trades held to a higher tolerance. Site standards that reflect the residence being built inside them. Schedule and cost tracked in the open. Quality checks written into the sequence, not added at the end.

VI

Pillar

Completion

A careful closeout, and after.

Punch-listing held to a high tolerance. Complete project documentation delivered to the client. Continued availability as the residence settles into use — because the handoff is a beginning, not an exit.

Begin

The first stage is a conversation.

Each inquiry is reviewed directly by a principal and handled in confidence.
